Firefly – Kg Kuantan

Today ,my family and I went for a trip to Kampung Kuantan. We left our house at around 2.30 pm. First we dropped by auntie’s house to visit my dear little sister, Ern Tong. It started to rain by then.
Afterthat, we started our journey to Kampung Kuantan from there. Fortunately rain stopped by then. It took us almost an hour to reached Bukit Malawati, Kuala Selangor. We visited a muzium where they displayed all Malaysian traditional games. We saw games such as gasing, guli, batu seremban, congkak, upih and many others.
We also saw many monkeys at the park. There was a light house on top of the hill but unfortunately we were not allowed in. There were a few canons facing the sea.
Many tourists are seen feeding the monkeys. They bought long beans from the ice-cream vendors. We proceeded for dinner at a seafood restaurant nearby. It was a sumptuous dinner, we had steamed mantis prawns, fried mantis prawns, steamed pomfret and some vegetables. The restaurant is situated on the river which provided us great sun set sight.

After the sumptuous meal, we proceeded to the firefly park at Kampung Kuantan. It was quite dark by the time we arrived. We quickly purchased some tickets. We are required to rent a boat for 4 of us. It costed us Rm40. For safety measure, we have to put on life jacket. The weather was quite stuffy that night and many mosquitoes feast on us. Shortly we lined up to take our boat. What a fantastic sights! Unfortunately we were not able to capture any firefly sight but it was a great wonder. Understand that there are only 2 firefly sites in the world and Kampung Kuantan is one of it.
